What we collect, why we need it, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to change or delete it.
RIP Memorial Cards is the data controller for the information described here. We collect only what we need to design, print and deliver your order, and we do not sell or rent your details to anyone.
What we collect
- Your name, email address, phone number and delivery address.
- The wording for your cards — names, dates, ages, verses and messages.
- Photographs and artwork you upload or send us.
- Order and payment records (amount, items, reference and status).
- Enquiries you send through the contact form, including anti-spam checks such as the time your message was submitted.
- If you create an account, your email address and any designs you save.
Why we need it
To prepare your proof, print your order, deliver it or have it ready for collection, answer your enquiry, keep proper accounting records, and protect the website from spam and abuse. Our lawful bases are performance of your contract, our legitimate interest in running a secure business, and our legal obligations.
Payments
Card payments are processed by our payment provider. Your card number never reaches us and is never stored on our systems — we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with the amount and reference.
Photographs and saved designs
Photographs and artwork are used solely to produce your order and are seen only by our own print team. If you save a design to an account, it stays in your account until you delete it or ask us to. Finished artwork is kept for a limited period so reprints and anniversary reorders remain possible, then deleted.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers who make the site work: our website and database hosting, our payment provider, our email delivery service, and the delivery service that brings your cards to you. They act on our instructions and may not use your details for their own purposes.
Cookies
We use only the cookies and local storage needed for the site to function — keeping your cart, wishlist and sign-in session. We do not use advertising cookies or sell browsing data.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct, delete or restrict it, and you can object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
