Memory Cards for a Loved One
If you have been told to organise the memory cards, this is the page for you. It is the same keepsake card you have seen at every Irish funeral — a photograph, a name, the dates, and a verse — and we have been printing them in Gorey for over 30 years.
The short answer
Memory cards, memorial cards, memoriam cards and mortuary cards all describe the same keepsake. Ours are printed on 350gsm board with a gloss or matte laminate so they last, and every price includes the design work, the proofs, the envelopes and VAT. Folding cards are €55 for 15 and €168 for 100, and we print and post within 2–3 business days once you approve the proof.
What families usually order
- A folding card with the photograph and name on the front and a verse inside — the one most families choose
- A memorial bookmark, kept in a missal, a prayer book or a novel
- A wallet card, laminated and credit-card sized, carried for years afterwards
- Acknowledgement cards, for thanking everyone who came or sent their sympathies
The one design carries across all four, so the cards, bookmarks and wallet cards match. If it is a Mass card or a Mass booklet you need, those are printed to order and quoted individually.

- What are memory cards?
- Memory cards is one of the names Irish families use for the keepsake cards handed out after a death — the small card with a photograph of your loved one, their name and dates, and a prayer or verse. You will also hear them called memorial cards, memoriam cards and mortuary cards. We print all of them here.
- How many memory cards should we order?
- Most families order between 100 and 250. A useful guide is one for every household you expect at the funeral, plus a few dozen spare — people ask for them long afterwards. Our quantities start at 15 and go up to 400.
- How much do memory cards cost?
- Folding cards are €55 for 15 and €168 for 100, which works out at about €1.68 a card. Design by our own team, proof revisions, envelopes and VAT are all included. See our memorial card prices for every quantity.
- How long do they take?
- We print and post within 2–3 business days once you have approved the proof, and you are welcome to collect free of charge from our Gorey shop instead.
- Can you use an old or damaged photograph?
- Usually, yes. Send us whatever you have and we will tell you honestly how it will print. We can tidy up marks and creases, and if you only have a printed photograph we can scan it for you in the shop.
