The Celtic cross
The high cross with the ring at its centre, as you see it in graveyards from Monasterboice to Glendalough. Set on the front of the card, or small and quiet beside the name.
Knotwork borders
Interlaced borders in gold or green that frame the photograph without taking from it — the line has no beginning and no end, which is part of why families choose it.
Irish landscapes
Hills, coastline, stone walls and country roads. Many families choose the place their loved one came from, or the view they walked every evening.
Verses in Irish
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam, a line of a blessing, or a full verse in Irish. We will set the spelling and the fadas out for you to check on the proof.

- What is a Celtic memorial card?
- It is a memorial card whose design draws on Irish traditional artwork — a high cross, interlaced knotwork, a Claddagh, or an Irish landscape — rather than a plain or purely religious border. The card itself is the same keepsake: photograph, name, dates and a verse.
- Can I have a verse in Irish?
- Yes. We print in Irish as well as English, including Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. Send us the wording, or ask us and we will show you what other families have chosen, and you can check every fada on the proof.
- Is a Celtic design religious?
- It can be either. A high cross reads as clearly Catholic, while knotwork, a Claddagh or a landscape can be entirely non-religious. If the family would prefer nothing religious at all, say so and we will keep it that way.
- Do Celtic cards cost more?
- No. The price depends on the card and the quantity, not the design — folding cards are €55 for 15 and €168 for 100, with the design work and VAT included.
- Can you match a card from a previous family funeral?
- Usually. Send us a photograph of the older card and we will match the border and lettering as closely as we can, so a husband's and wife's cards sit together properly.
